Tuesday, July 29, 2008
one thing i'll miss dearly about australia is some of the awesomest food i've ever tasted which sent me to heaven and back, makes me drool everytime i think of it, and the awesomeness of the food is definitely not exaggerated!!!! ^O^ will try to provide pictures of aforementioned food if we managed to snap it before chomping them.
*you have been warned*
1. Crispy Duck in Pancakes - King Fook, Canberra
oh my godddd i've never gone crazy over duck pancakes, but this was soooo gooood it tops my list of bestest food tasted in australia zomg (okay to be frank, they're actually ranked unaccordingly :P). wrap the pancake with some sweet sauce, crispy duck, and a stick of cucumber, take a bite, and zomg the fats!!!! the fats melts in ur mouth, followed by the great combination of the ingredients, this is simplicity at its best. IS THERE ANY OTHER GOOOD CRISPY DUCK PANCAKES PLACES IN MALAYSIA/ENGLAND?!?!?!??!! *faints*
2. Japanese Cheesecake - some jap restaurant in canberra
we popped by this jap restaurant one day to grab some sandwich, and decided to get the cheesecake too. without any expectation, i had my first bite and the look of bliss appeared on my face!! ^O^ ohmygawddddd its so moist, and practically melts in ur mouth zomg T___T so goood SO GOOOOOOOOOD not to mention that its reasonably priced at $3.50 too!
3. Bubble Tea - Hazel Tea House, Gold Coast

a friend highly recommended this shop for its bubble tea. finally laid hands on the bubble tea on our final day in gold coast after unsuccessful attempts in locating the shop. i had honey melon milk green tea (with pearls of coz), and zomgggggg i've never praised so highly on bubble teas! the pearls were so chewy and soooo nice to chew zomg never had anything like this in my life. please visit this shop if you're ever EVER in gold coast omgggg and tapau some for me can???
4. Pink Poodle, Gold Coast

the same friend highly recommended this place for belgian food & the wide variety of beer. loved the beer (stella artois!) battered chips mmmmmmmm, and my chicken & mushroom pesto risotto. but BUTTTT the highlight of the meal was of coz the chicken somethingsomething which walter ordered!

it was something like a chicken pie placed on top of a plate of chips, and a generous serving of sauce which consisted of mushrooms and also full powered on garlic was poured all over it. ZOMG the sauce was the bomb!!!!! vowed to return again for that dish before we left gold coast, but was too carried away with the rest of the food selections around T_______T
5. BBQ Pork Ribs - Hurricane, Bondi/Darling Harbour, Sydney

all i ever heard about hurricane was endless praises from everyone who've been there. must have been REALLLLY good eh?? highly anticipated our visit over there, ordered 2 full racks for the 5 of us, and to our dismay, part of the ribs turned out too burnt to be enjoyed. anyhows, the waitress gave us an extra rack of ribs to make up for it, and damn was it goooood! i've always loved pork ribs, and mmmmmmmm damnit i'm gonna miss hurricane arghhhhh!
6. cupcakes with peanut butter frosting

hahahhaha we actually made them ourselves, and mannnnn the frosting were SO GOOOOOOOD that i feel like crying T________T
also, other good food worth mentioning

max brenner's fondue! ahhhh koko black and lindt cafe were goooood as well :D

fresh seafood at sydney's fish market! damn the prawns were to die for! TO DIE FOR!!!!!!! *faints*
