i'm finally back from manila! the stay has been awesome, not to mention the brilliant hospitality offered by mum's friends :) tho i was more than delighted to see the familiar sights of kl just before touching down :)
everywhere we went, we were greeted by the overlyfriendly locals - Good Morning Ma'am :) Good Evening Ma'am :) How are you Ma'am? :) Have a good day Ma'am :) and specifically in the hotel, everyone in the family were greeted as a Ms/Mr Ong (they recognized us after day 1....) -.-" well, mum checked in under her name, and obviously they mistook it as our family name hahahaha. we stayed in mandarin oriental in makati, the central business district whereby i'd say it felt like i was in singapore, really! clean & modern, high rise buildings in sight, and Greenbelt - an upmarket shopping mall surrounding a gorgeous garden! :D
and the food! the fact that pork is easily available in all restaurants is more than enough to amuse us haha. everyday we had endless rounds of good food starting with a big fat buffet breakfast which was more like a buffet lunch/dinner coz of the massive spread of food, followed by random lunches at foodcourts (tidak halal foodcourts zomg) or fine chinese/philippine cuisine at the bestest restaurants in town. OHHH and one day, i was being all cranky because of the terrible heat at mall of asia (used to be the largest in asia, but the chinese beat them :P) and was in dire need of a cold drink, i spotted a longish queue for the bubble tea shop
Quickly. long queues = good stuff! decided on the Taro Taro Ice which consists of (frozen) taro blended ice, sago, and taro custard. it was one of the bestest choice i've made to date :D praised highly of the magical
bubble tea Taro Taro Ice, especially the custard part (somewhat taufoofa-like texture!!) to my siblings, but they waved me away :( until we saw Quickly again today, and i insisted them to try it. AAAAAHHH the bliss on their faces = priceless! "This is damn fucking good!" :D
and the fact that most locals can converse in english adds another brownie point :)
just the one thing i disliked about manila was the badbad traffic, much worse than kl's! we were supposed to go to Divisoria today after much research and anticipation on it that it sold reaaaally cheap stuffs, but the plan was cancelled in the end coz it was too far away in addition to the terrible traffic :(
pictures up hopefully soon :P
